Meet The Team

Each of our animal partners comes to The Hobbystead with their own unique story.  Discover their story as you venture on your own journey.

Chadio and

   Sun Down

These two boys were the first horses at The Hobbystead. Chadio is the elder of the pair. He has a calm demeanor but takes a bit of time to warm up—unless, of course, you come bearing treats! His son, Sun Down, is quite the opposite.  He is energetic and has an outgoing, social personality.

Daisy

Daisy came to The Hobbystead in 2022 from another home.  She loves feeding time, grooming, and being around children.  Daisy is our oldest pony on the farm.

Cinnamon

Cinnamon is a retired work horse.  She came to the farm in 2023 and is our biggest horse.  Cinnamon is a gentle giant.  The quickest way to her heart is with feed.

Norman

Norman, a miniature horse, is our smallest equine team member. He loves feeding time and treats.

The Goats

The Hobbystead is home to friendly goats throughout the year. The goats are mainly Nubian dairy goats with the exception of Hero, Nigerian Dwarf goat. The goats love getting fed special treats, jumping, climbing, and relaxing in the sun.

The Flock

The Hobbystead isn't complete without a flock of chickens.  We have over 36 egg laying hens and a couple roosters that call our green pastures home.  They like special treats, usually vegetable trimmings, and scratch grain.  In our flock you will find Pearl.  She is one of the original chickens.  Can you find Pearl when you visit?

Mystery and  Heidi

Mystery was our first feline addition.  She is our super friendly barn cat.  Some of her favorite things to do are following you around, riding on your shoulder, taking an ATV ride, and catching mice.  She will be sure to say hello to every visitor.

Heidi got her name because she likes to hide in the chicken coop.  On rare occasions you can see her roaming around the farm.  She enjoys feeding time and being pet.

Finn and Huck

Finn and Huck are our canine friends.  Finn is the oldest of the two.  Both boys are Golden doodles.  Finn and Huck are very friendly and social dogs.  While Finn is likely to say hello to every visitor, Huck is slow to warm up to new people.
